La Vista, Nebraska – Streck is excited to announce the release of MDx-Chex® for RP, the latest addition to the MDx-Chex portfolio of full-process molecular quality controls. Designed for high-plex respiratory testing panels, the control covers 24 targets and verifies the complete analytical workflow from lysis and nucleic acid extraction through detection.
MDx-Chex for RP contains intact inactivated microorganisms suspended in a stabilized matrix of human erythrocytes and lung epithelial cells. Because the organisms are intact, the control enters the workflow at lysis — the same point a patient sample would — enabling verification of upstream steps that synthetic controls do not reach. The product is stable at room temperature, requires no reconstitution, and processes like a patient respiratory specimen without warm-up or dedicated cold storage.
The MDx-Chex portfolio has grown alongside the expanding demands of molecular diagnostics, addressing the quality control needs of laboratories as multiplex testing has become standard practice. Compatible with the bioMérieux RP2.1 Panel, MDx-Chex for RP extends that coverage to highplex respiratory testing, bringing full-process verification and workflow simplicity to one of the most target-rich panels in the lab.
“Respiratory panels are testing for more targets than ever before, and laboratories need quality controls that reflect that reality,” said Chris Connelly, Director of Business Segment – Molecular at Streck. “MDx-Chex for RP was developed to meet that need — a control that works the way the workflow does. Most labs aren’t just validating detection — they need a control that runs the whole process. That’s what MDx-Chex for RP does.”
MDx-Chex for RP is available now (Cat. No. 250101). The product is stable at 2 °C to 25 °C, requires no reconstitution, and is supplied in single-use 300 μL vials. MDx-Chex for RP is for Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
