ARM-D® Kit, ampC

The Streck ARM-D Kit, ampC is a multiplex real-time PCR kit for the rapid detection of antibiotic resistance genes in Gram-negative bacteria. This kit detects multiple variants and differentiates plasmid-mediated ampC resistance from chromosomal resistance in the following gene families: CMY-2, DHA, ACC, EBC, FOX and MOX.

Streck ARM-D Kit, ampC antibiotic resistance detection multi-plex pcr kits

The Streck ARM-D Kit, ampC is part of a family of comprehensive, multiplex real-time PCR kits that detect over 1,000 antimicrobial resistance (AMR) gene variants from 26 different gene target families. Streck ARM-D Kits provide a rapid detection strategy for monitoring β-lactam antibiotic resistance to improve surveillance, aid antibiotic stewardship programs and support infection control programs. The ARM-D ampC kit detects over 200 variants in 6 clinically relevant resistance gene families and can differentiate plasmid-mediated ampC β-lactamase resistance from chromosomal resistance.

Features

  • Detects 6 antimicrobial resistance gene targets and over 200 variants
  • Protocol can be completed in less than one hour
  • Compatible with most 4-channel real-time PCR thermal cyclers
  • Includes a premixed 2X master mix: DNA Polymerase, dNTPs, MgCl2 and reaction buffer
  • Includes positive controls for each gene target to monitor analytical process
  • Amplification protocol and analysis guides available

Benefits

  • Avoid false negatives; detect gene variants not covered by cartridge-based kits
  • Detect resistance mechanisms prior to obtaining susceptibility results
  • Batch testing reduces cost per sample compared to cartridge-based methods
  • Ensure accurate and reliable results with a high degree of sensitivity and specificity
  • Screen bacterial isolates for AMR genes to complement phenotypic testing
  • Improve surveillance, aid antibiotic stewardship programs and support infection control programs

Molecular Diagnostics (MDx) are the tests and techniques that have been developed in recent decades that analyze biological markers such as nucleic acids and proteins, to diagnose and monitor disease, detect disease risks and to monitor the effectiveness of treatments. MDx assays are used in prenatal testing, infectious disease testing, cancer and inherited diseases testing.
