Sperm-Chex®

Sperm-Chex is a manual sperm count control comprised of real stabilized sperm cells in two clinically significant levels to validate the accuracy and precision of your laboratory’s manual sperm counting methods. This control can be analyzed with the same process as patient samples and is assayed for use with hemacytometers and other commercially available manual counting chambers.

Sperm-Chex contains real stabilized sperm cells because latex beads do not have the same chamber loading or optical characteristics as actual sperm. Using real sperm cells ensures the control performs like a patient sample, validating the entire sperm quantification process including proper sample handling, chamber loading technique and microscopic identification.

Sperm-Chex is available in two clinically significant levels that span the range of sperm concentrations encountered in fertility testing. Each kit contains two 300 µL vials, one for each level, allowing laboratories to verify performance at different clinically relevant sperm count concentrations.

Sperm-Chex is compatible with hemacytometers and other commercially available manual counting chambers used for sperm quantification. This broad compatibility allows laboratories to use Sperm-Chex regardless of their specific counting chamber system.

Sperm-Chex offers 42-day open-vial stability and 12-month closed-vial stability. This extended shelf life reduces the number of shipments and associated costs while ensuring consistent quality control performance throughout the year.
