Retic-Chex® Linearity for BC

Retic-Chex Linearity for BC is an assayed linearity control kit designed to establish the reportable range and measure the linear performance of Beckman Coulter hematology analyzers that report the reticulocyte parameter. The kit can be used to verify patient reportable ranges on automated and semi-automated hematology analyzers.

Reticulocytes are immature red blood cells that indicate bone marrow function and red blood cell production. Linearity testing verifies that the analyzer provides accurate results across the entire reportable range of reticulocyte values, from low to high concentrations. This ensures reliable results for both patients with low reticulocyte counts and those with elevated counts.

Retic-Chex Linearity for BC is packaged in five-vial sets, available in 3.0 mL vials with pierceable caps. Instrument-specific values for reticulocyte percentages are included with each kit, providing the data needed to establish linearity across the reportable range.

Retic-Chex Linearity for BC offers 5-day open-vial stability and 105-day closed-vial stability. This extended closed-vial shelf life allows laboratories to maintain linearity materials on hand without frequent reordering.

Laboratories should perform linearity verification at least annually or following major instrument maintenance, reagent lot changes or when implementing new testing procedures. Retic-Chex Linearity for BC helps clinical laboratories meet these quality control requirements with established assay ranges that provide less room for error.

Daily quality controls verify that the analyzer is performing correctly on a routine basis, typically using one to three levels. Linearity controls use multiple levels (typically five or more) across the entire reportable range to verify that the analyzer maintains accuracy from the lowest to highest values it can measure. Both types of quality control are necessary for comprehensive instrument validation.
