ESR-Chex Plus is a bi-level quality control for evaluating the accuracy and precision of automated erythrocyte sedimentation rate testing methods that use EDTA tubes. This whole blood control is manufactured from human red blood cells and can be used in the same manner as a patient sample. It is available in two levels, normal and abnormal, and each vial label is barcoded for automatic QC file archive.
The CUBE 30 scans the vial barcode within the instrument, whereas the MINI-CUBE scans an external barcode on the assay sheet.
ESR-Chex Plus is assayed for the Diesse CUBE 30 Touch and Diesse MINI-CUBE ESR analyzers.
Ready-to-use whole blood control resembles patient sample
Available in two levels: normal and abnormal
Assayed for automated sed-rate testing methods
7-day open-vial stability; 365-day closed-vial stability
Alerts the technologist to variables that may affect the accuracy of patient results

ESR-Chex Plus is a whole blood sed-rate control for automated ESR testing methods that use EDTA tubes. It is available in two levels (normal and abnormal) and is assayed specifically for the Diesse CUBE 30 Touch and Diesse MINI-CUBE automated analyzers.
ESR-Chex is designed for both manual and automated ESR methods using traditional sed-rate tubes. ESR-Chex Plus is specifically formulated for automated ESR testing methods that use EDTA tubes, particularly the Diesse CUBE 30 Touch and MINI-CUBE systems. Laboratories should use the control that matches their specific ESR testing methodology.
Some modern automated ESR analyzers like the Diesse systems can perform ESR testing directly from EDTA tubes, eliminating the need for specialized sed-rate tubes. This approach streamlines workflows by allowing ESR testing from the same tube used for CBC analysis, reducing sample handling and turnaround time.
ESR-Chex Plus offers 7-day open-vial stability and 365-day closed-vial stability. The extended closed-vial shelf life ensures the control remains usable throughout the year and reduces the frequency of shipments.
ESR-Chex Plus is a ready-to-use whole blood control that resembles a patient sample. Each vial label is barcoded for automatic QC file archive, eliminating manual data entry and reducing transcription errors when documenting quality control results.
No, ESR-Chex Plus is ready to use directly from the vial with no aliquoting required. This convenience saves time and reduces the potential for sample handling errors, making quality control procedures faster and more reliable.
