Cell-Free DNA BCT maintains cell-free DNA for up to 14 days at 6 °C to 37 °C* and CTCs for up to 7 days at 15 °C to 30 °C*. It contains a preservative reagent that limits the release of genomic DNA, allowing for isolation of high-quality cell-free DNA, and minimizes the degradation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs)*. Cell-Free DNA BCT eliminates the need for immediate plasma isolation and CTC processing, easing concerns about pre-analytical variation that arises during shipping and handling.
The cell-free DNA and CTCs isolated from stored plasma are suitable for many downstream applications used in research studies, drug discovery and assay development.

Start your orderCell-Free DNA BCT is available in three versions depending on region and intended use. The RUO (Research Use Only) version is for Research Use Only. The CE marked version is an in vitro diagnostic device for export markets outside the U.S. The IVD version is FDA cleared for specific NGS assays in the United States. Performance characteristics for the RUO and CE versions have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
Cell-Free DNA BCT RUO and Cell-Free DNA BCT CE maintain cell-free DNA for up to 14 days at 6 °C to 37 °C and circulating tumor cells (CTCs) for up to 7 days at 15 °C to 30 °C. This extended stability eliminates the need for immediate plasma isolation and CTC processing, easing concerns about pre-analytical variation during shipping and handling.
The cell-free DNA and CTCs isolated from plasma stored in Cell-Free DNA BCT RUO and Cell-Free DNA BCT CE are suitable for many downstream applications used in research studies and assay development, including next-generation sequencing, digital PCR and other molecular analyses.
Yes, Cell-Free DNA BCT RUO and Cell-Free DNA BCT CE allow for room temperature storage and shipping of critical samples. The tubes maintain sample integrity across a wide temperature range (6 °C to 37 °C for cfDNA), eliminating the need for cold chain logistics and reducing costs and complications associated with temperature-controlled transport.
Liquid biopsy research relies on detecting rare circulating biomarkers like cell-free DNA and CTCs in blood samples. Without stabilization, white blood cells can lyse during sample handling and transport, releasing massive amounts of genomic DNA that overwhelms the rare cell-free DNA signal. Cell-Free DNA BCT prevents this contamination through its proprietary stabilization technology, enabling researchers to obtain high-quality samples even when immediate processing is not possible or when samples must be shipped to centralized testing facilities.
Pre-analytical variation is a major source of inconsistency in biomarker research, occurring during sample collection, transport and storage. Cell-Free DNA BCT minimizes this variation by maintaining draw-time concentrations of cell-free DNA and CTCs for extended periods at room temperature. This standardization across samples improves data quality, reduces experimental variability and enables more reliable discovery and validation of biomarkers in research studies.
