Streck to present new tube at TRI-CON

February 17, 2020

Streck R&D Scientific Manager Dr. Nicholas George will give a presentation on our newest blood collection tube, RNA Complete BCT®, at the 27th International Molecular Medicine Tri-Conference in San Francisco. Streck is a premier sponsor at TRI-CON and will exhibit at Booth #306 during exhibit dates March 2-4 at the Moscone South Convention Center.

Dr. George will present, “Introducing RNA Complete BCT, a novel blood collection tube targeting circulating RNA and extracellular vesicles,” from 11:40 to 11:55 a.m. on March 3 in the Circulating Tumor Cells and Liquid Biopsy track. RNA Complete BCT is a direct-draw blood collection tube that maintains the draw time concentration of cell-free RNA and extracellular vesicles, such as exosomes. The new Research Use Only blood collection tube maintains cfRNA and exosome populations for up to 7 days at room temperature, all while maximizing plasma yield and minimizing hemolysis during storage.

The presentation will describe the Streck RNA Complete BCT and how the novel whole blood collection tube allows for delayed sample processing including shipping and room temperature storage while minimizing effects on sample integrity or downstream analyte analysis in research applications. Assays of extracellular vesicles and cfRNA will be used as examples in order to demonstrate the robustness of the RNA Complete BCT for these applications.

Dr. Nicholas George, R&D Scientific Manager at Streck

Dr. George received his Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and joined Streck in 2015. His current research and development interests include facilitating research into liquid biopsy and the multitude of pre-analytical variables associated with sample collection, processing and analysis.

TRI-CON brings together more than 3,000 innovative thinkers and thought leaders in the field of drug discovery, development and diagnostics, informatics, and digital health throughout pharma, biotech, and academia. Participants learn about the emerging developments and advancements of therapeutic, diagnostic, and technology approaches that are advancing precision medicine.

RNA Complete BCT is for Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
