CD-Chex Select®

CD-Chex Select is a positive procedural flow cytometry control assayed for 11 CD markers used for immunophenotyping: CD26, CD41, CD57, CD58, CD61, CD64, FMC7, TCR α/β, TCR γ/δ, and intracellular CD79a and MPO.

CD-Chex Select contains human leukocytes and erythrocytes that possess surface and intracellular antigens detectable with fluorescent monoclonal antibodies by flow cytometry and is designed to represent normal peripheral blood leukocytes where lymphocytes, monocytes, and granulocytes are distinguishable on the basis of light scatter properties.

CD-Chex Select has plastic vials with pierceable caps and is compatible with BD® Biosciences and Beckman Coulter® flow cytometry systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

CD-Chex Select is a positive procedural flow cytometry control assayed for 11 CD markers used for immunophenotyping: CD26, CD41, CD57, CD58, CD61, CD64, FMC7, TCR α/β, TCR γ/δ and intracellular CD79a and MPO. This control contains human leukocytes and erythrocytes designed to represent normal peripheral blood leukocytes where lymphocytes, monocytes and granulocytes are distinguishable on the basis of light scatter properties.

CD-Chex Select is assayed for 2 intracellular markers: CD79a and MPO (myeloperoxidase). These intracellular markers are important for lineage determination in hematologic malignancies, and CD-Chex Select provides a ready-to-use control that challenges both surface and intracellular staining procedures.

Yes, CD-Chex Select is compatible with automated sample preparation instruments as well as BD Biosciences and Beckman Coulter flow cytometry systems. This compatibility with automated sample preparation improves laboratory workflow and reduces errors associated with manual pipetting.

CD-Chex Select is a whole blood control that resembles a patient sample, containing human leukocytes and erythrocytes with surface and intracellular antigens detectable by fluorescent monoclonal antibodies. This patient-like composition allows the control to evaluate the entire flow cytometry process, from sample preparation through analysis.

CD-Chex Select offers 30-day open-vial stability and 90-day closed-vial stability. This extended stability reduces the frequency of shipments and lot-to-lot correlations, saving laboratory time and resources.

No, CD-Chex Select provides manufacturer established assay ranges, so there is no need to verify the range per CAP requirements. This saves time and resources while ensuring compliance with quality control standards, and users have access to STATS, Streck’s free interlaboratory quality control program for peer group data comparison.

Automated sample preparation instruments reduce manual pipetting errors, improve workflow efficiency and increase throughput in high-volume laboratories. CD-Chex Select’s compatibility with these systems means the control can be processed using the same automated workflow as patient samples, ensuring that quality control truly evaluates the entire analytical process as it is actually performed in the laboratory rather than only testing manual procedures.
