Streck and Biodesix® partner to present at the 2017 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting held in Washington, D.C.
Carissa Moore, Ph.D., the R&D Scientific Manager of Immunology & Biomarkers at Streck, and Hestia Mellert, Ph.D., the Director of Molecular Development at Biodesix, will give a presentation titled, “Pre-Analytical Variable Considerations in the Development of Robust Circulating DNA and RNA ddPCR Assays” held on Tuesday, April 4, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Spotlight Theater B, Hall A.
“I will discuss how successful detection of biomarkers is dependent on controlling pre-analytical variables, such as peripheral blood collection, processing, and shipment and storage methods,” said Dr. Moore. Streck blood collection tubes can help preserve valuable samples for liquid biopsy assay development.
Biodesix will describe their pre-analytical considerations with the GeneStrat® Genomic Test. GeneStrat is a blood-based series of ddPCR tests for DNA (EGFR, KRAS, BRAF) and multiplexed assays for RNA variants (EML4-ALK, ROS1, RET).
“This presentation will update on specimen collection kit design considerations, product development studies and post-launch test performance using the Streck DNA and RNA blood collection tubes,” said Dr. Mellert.
Streck and Biodesix will also exhibit at the AACR Annual meeting April 2-5, 2017. The AACR Annual Meeting highlights the best cancer science and medicine from institutions all over the world.
