Omaha, NE Streck Cell-Chex® Auto, a three-level spinal and body fluid control for evaluating the accuracy and precision of hematology instruments that measure blood cell counts in patient body fluid samples, is now assayed for the Beckman Coulter® UniCel® DxH 600 Cellular Analysis System.
Using Cell-Chex Auto, the technologist can improve efficiency, maintain testing accuracy, and decrease turnaround times for most body fluid samples by eliminating the need for manual hemacytometer testing by one or more technologists. Cell-Chex Auto was the first automated body fluid control on the market.
Cell-Chex Auto tests the lower linearity limits of the DxH 600 to provide confidence that patient body fluid sample results are accurate. It is also assayed for Abbott CELL-DYN® 3200 and Ruby®; Coulter
LH 750/LH 755/LH 780 and UniCel DxH 800; Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics ADVIA® 120/2120/2120i; and Sysmex® XE-2100, XE-5000, XT-1800i, XT-2000i and XT-4000i.
Also available is Cell-Chex®, is a bi-level control that verifies the accuracy of WBC and RBC manual counting procedures for spinal fluid and body fluid samples. When the product is stained in the same manner as a patient sample, the technologist can differentiate the granulocyte, lymphocyte and monocyte populations. The Cell-Chex assay offers 5-part white cell differential values. Cell-Chex is appropriate for all body fluids and has urate crystals in Level 1-UC and CPPD crystals in Level 1-CC to aid in identification of crystals in synovial fluid.
Strecks interlaboratory quality control program, STATS®, provides customers with evaluations of their instruments performance against a peer group comprised of other labs using the same instrument, method and product lot. The program, open to all customers at no charge, includes personalized, easy-to-read reports that detail performance, identify trends and facilitate prompt corrective action.
