Blood Collection Tube
ESR-Vacuum Tubes are used to collect, transport, and analyze the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) of whole blood. ESR-Vacuum Tubes are specifically designed for use with the Streck ESR-Auto Plus® automated sedimentation rate analyzer and the Streck ESR-10 Manual Rack.
ESR-Vacuum Tubes contain tri-sodium citrate to avoid coagulation. After the tube is mixed, it is placed in the ESR-Auto Plus instrument or ESR-10 Manual Rack. Both systems produce an ESR result in 30 minutes.
Patient samples can be maintained from the time of blood collection for up to 72 hours prior to analysis when transported and stored at 2 °C-10 °C.
ESR-Vacuum Tubes for higher altitude locations are also available.
Safety Coated Tubes
Significantly more impact resistant than glass collection tubes, Safety Coated ESR-Vacuum Tubes are designed with an outer Mylar® coating that contains glass and blood specimens in the event of breakage, which reduces the risk of injury and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
ESR Tube Labeling Sleeves
ESR Tube Labeling Sleeves provide an easy, low-cost method of positively identifying samples without interfering with the ESR-Auto Plus automated testing process. The labeling sleeves are made from a thin, durable plastic and are designed specifically for use with Streck ESR-Vacuum Tubes.
ESR Tube Labeling Sleeves allow for the application of virtually any size secondary patient identification label without obstructing the blood column during analysis. The labeling sleeve will remain securely attached to the patient sample until the technologist disposes of the tube or deliberately removes the sleeve. They are packaged in sets of 100 sleeves.
