Connie began as a med tech at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she earned a medical technology degree. Starting in 1982, Connie has risen through Streck technical services, product and sales management to become President in 1992 and CEO in 2013. She completed the Harvard School of Business Owner/President Management Program, is a member of the AdvaMed CEO Advisory Council and serves on the boards of Habitat for Humanity and the Omaha Community Foundation.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Curtis Akey, MBA, CPA, joined Streck as Chief Financial Officer in 2016. Previously, Curtis was Principal at PCS Services, Omaha; Executive Vice President and CFO at NMC Group, Omaha; Finance Director of U.S. Operations at Colliers International, Denver; and CFO at MPC Corporation, Denver, CO, and Nampa, ID. Curtis received his MBA from The Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania. He is a certified public accountant, licensed in the state of Nebraska.
VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Matthew Kreifels began working at Streck in 2000. He has held various roles in operations, R&D, business development, and currently leads the sales team. Matthew received his B.S in business administration from Bellevue University and his MBA and M.S. in bioscience management from Creighton University.
VICE PRESIDENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Brad joined Streck in 1989 and for more than two decades, worked in Research and Development, under the direction of Streck’s founder and cell stabilization innovator, Dr. Wayne Ryan, holding various leadership positions within the Research Department and in 2020 was named Vice President of Research and Development. Brad earned his B.S. in biology from Midland College and is member of the ACS American Chemical Society and AACC American Association for Clinical Chemistry.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Initially joining Streck in 2001 as Production Manager, John has risen steadily through the company and was promoted to Director of Manufacturing in 2003, Director of Operations in 2013, and to his current position as Vice President of Operations in 2015. Prior to working at Streck, John was production manager with Intervet. He earned his B.S. in biology from Kearney State. John is a member of the American Association of Blood Banks, and AAMI Advancing Safety in Medical Technology.
VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
Michael joined Streck in January of 2020 as Vice President of Marketing bringing more than 20 years of healthcare experience to the organization. Prior to joining Streck, Michael served as Chief Business Development Officer at Aegis Sciences, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at MediSync, and various leadership roles at Meridian Bioscience. His extensive experience in healthcare has focused on diagnostic testing services and value-based care. Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in industrial distribution from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Ryan joined Streck as General Counsel in 2019. Before that, he spent 12 years practicing law as a senior in-house attorney for Union Pacific Railroad and in private practice with Kirkland & Ellis and Baird Holm LLP. Ryan earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated magna cum laude, was Executive Editor for the Law Review, and a moot-court champion. Ryan earned his B.S.B.A. in Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated with Highest Distinction, served as Student Body President and Student Regent, and was a student-athlete.
