Connie Ryan

Connie Ryan
Chairperson, President and Chief Executive Officer

Connie Ryan was appointed CEO in 2013. She has served as President since 1992. Her tenure at Streck began in 1982; she held positions in Technical Service, Product Management and Sales Management. Previously, Ryan was a Staff Medical Technologist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and has completed the Harvard School of Business Owner/President Management Program. Ryan is on the board of directors for Creighton University, the Omaha Community Foundation, and NUtech Ventures; she is a member of the Strategic Command Consultation Committee, the Chief Executives Organization and AdvaMed CEO Advisory Council.


Curtis Akey

Curtis Akey
Chief Financial Officer

Curtis Akey, MBA, CPA, joined Streck in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Akey was Principal at PCS Services, Omaha, and his prior positions include Executive Vice President and CFO at NMC Group, Inc., Omaha; Finance Director of U.S. Operations at Colliers International, Denver; and CFO at MPC Corporation, Denver, CO and Nampa, ID. He held various positions in investment banking, accounting and corporate development in Colorado, California and New York. Akey received his master of business administration from The Wharton School, The University of Pennsylvania. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Nebraska.

David Conrad


David Conrad
Vice President of Research & Development

David Conrad, Ph.D., joined Streck in 2016 as Vice President of Research & Development. His responsibilities include new product development, as well as expansion of existing product lines. Previously, Conrad was Assistant Vice President for Economic Development at the University of Iowa; Executive Director of NUtech Ventures; Associate Vice Chancellor for Technology Development at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; and co-founder of Emerjent, Inc. Conrad earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He had a postdoctoral fellowship in chemistry at the California Institute of Technology. Conrad received his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Christopher Contonis




Christopher Contonis
Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Christopher Contonis joined Streck in 2016 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. His responsibilities include sales, marketing, communication and customer service for the full Streck product line. Prior to joining Streck he served as Director, North American Sales at IntegenX; National Sales Director at Certify Data Systems; Senior Director National Sales, Director of global Market Development-Molecular systems and other sales management positions at Focus Diagnostics. Contonis received his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical School College of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Brad Hunsley

Brad Hunsley
Director of Research & Development

Brad Hunsley joined Streck in 1989 as a Platelet Technician; he was promoted to various supervisor and leadership positions within the Research and Development Department and now serves as Director. Hunsley earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Midland College and he is a member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry.

John Noble

John Noble
Vice President of Operations

John Noble joined Streck in 2001 as Production Manager. He was promoted to Director of Manufacturing in 2003, to Director of Operations in 2013 and to Vice President of Operations in 2015. Prior to Streck, Noble was production manager with Intervet. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Kearney State and is a member of the American Association of Blood Banks and Advancing Safety in Medical Technology.

Rob Owen

Rob Owen
General Counsel

Rob Owen joined Streck as Assistant to the President in 2010 and assumed his current duties as General Counsel in 2011. Previously, he was Counsel for the US Department of Labor and the US Senate. Owen earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and a J.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Owen serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Bio Nebraska and is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association.
